New calls for pregnant women to be weighed to prevent childhood obesity
According to a report in The Times newspaper today, academics have linked poor diet in pregnancy and higher pregnancy BMI with childhood obesity and other health problems such as high blood pressure and poor control of blood sugar. The report looks at midwives’ role in weighing pregnant women to ensure they are neither over or under weight.
The report highlights that exercise and good nutrition are essential to the health of both mother and baby during pregnancy, and also for the baby as it grows as a child.
If you are worried about weight gain in your pregnancy then a bespoke training and nutrition programme specifically designed for you and your pregnancy is a safe and effective way to ensure the health of you and your baby.
