Pregnancy and Post-natal Exercise

Pregnancy Exercise

YES! it is okay for you to start working out once you get pregnant. In fact, you should exercise.  Current advice from The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the leading researchers in pregnancy, recommends that even if you were not active before you were pregnant you should still start an appropriate exercise programme once you become pregnant to have a healthy pregnancy (unless you are undergoing treatment for a pregnancy complication by a healthcare professional).

Your body is changing, you feel tired, nauseous even.  Surely exercise is the last thing on your mind right?  There is a growing body of research that indicates that not only is exercise through pregnancy safe, but it also has a number of benefits including helping to reduce fatigue, nausea and back pain, anxiety, varicose veins, and a reduction in the risk of needing medical intervention during delivery.

Being a mum myself, I understand the worries and fears of being pregnant.  My bespoke exercise sessions will help you feel strong and confident through your pregnancy, preparing you for a safe delivery and reduced recovery time after the arrival of your baby.

Following the birth of your baby my Personal Training and Pilates sessions will be tailored to your personal recovery journey from initial pelvic floor and abdominal strength, to weight loss and functional strength as well as improving your self-esteem and confidence as you come to terms with the demands of motherhood.
